Hi, I’m Ayon. I’m a senior full-stack developer who loves building scalable, distributed systems.

I grew up in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and moved to Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, in 2022. I completed a second master’s, this time in computer science, at the University of Regina, where I specialized in human-centred computing. After that, I continued working on software people use every day.

What I’ve Worked On

  • Public sector. Today, I work on enterprise systems in Canada’s public sector.
  • Teaching. I taught software development to master’s students at a university in Canada.
  • Fintech. I worked on a mobile financial service in Bangladesh.
  • Consumer platforms. I helped build a platform in Bangladesh used by over 15 million people.
  • Open source. As a volunteer, I led the official Bangladesh community of a popular Linux distribution.

About This Blog

I started blogging on Blogger in 2008. The early posts were mostly about Linux and open source, many of them in Bangla. These days, I write about software development, backend systems, and the occasional bit of tech and life.

How I Write

I write from my own experience and perspective. I sometimes use AI tools to help with editing and research, but the opinions are my own. When I use outside facts or figures, I try to link to the original sources.

Away From the Keyboard

I’m into gaming, reading, travelling, photography, and anything aviation.
